Băncile centrale naţionale (BCN) din zona euro şi Banca Centrală Europeană hotărăsc volumele anuale de bancnote euro care urmează să fie produse, în funcţie de nevoia de a înlocui bancnotele necorespunzătoare şi de cererea de numerar.


Lucrul în echipă

Producţia de bancnote euro are la bază un efort combinat al BCN şi al Băncii Centrale Europene (BCE) şi începe prin calculul necesarului de bancnote în fiecare an. Trebuie produs un număr suficient de bancnote noi pentru a înlocui bancnotele necorespunzătoare, pentru a satisface creşterile estimate ale cererii – de exemplu, în perioadele de vârf –, dar şi creşterile neprevăzute ale acesteia.

BCN pun la dispoziţie prognoze referitoare la cererea de bancnote euro pentru anul următor, iar BCE furnizează o prognoză centrală.

Tipărirea descentralizată

Pentru o producţie eficientă de bancnote, tipărirea acestora este partajată între diferite BCN. BCE alocă volume de producţie unui număr de BCN care, ulterior, furnizează o proporţie specifică din producţia anuală totală a uneia sau mai multor cupiuri. De exemplu, în anul 2012, băncile centrale din Belgia, Germania, Italia şi Spania au produs 1,5 miliarde de bancnote de 50 EUR.

Calitate şi securitate în mod sistematic

Aproximativ 16 imprimerii de înaltă securitate din Europa produc bancnotele. Acestea sunt ulterior distribuite diferitelor BCN.

Acest aranjament de producere în comun a bancnotelor euro şi un sistem comun de management al calităţii asigură un standard uniform pentru toate bancnotele euro. De-a lungul întregului proces de producţie, sunt efectuate sute de teste manuale şi automatizate pentru a garanta că bancnotele de la toate imprimeriile sunt identice.

Redistribuire, după caz

Bancnotele euro tind să depăşească graniţele ţării în care au fost emise. Cetăţenii care călătoresc în interes de serviciu sau în vacanţă le duc în alte ţări din zona euro şi le cheltuiesc acolo. Sub supravegherea BCE, BCN redistribuie bancnotele pentru a evita deficitele sau excedentele în oricare dintre ţări.


Mai multe procese de tipărire

La fel ca în cazul bancnotelor euro din prima serie, bancnotele din seria „Europa” vor fi tipărite pe hârtie din fibre de bumbac pur, care le conferă foşnetul special şi le asigură un grad mai ridicat de rezistenţă la uzură în comparaţie cu hârtia obişnuită. Anumite elemente de siguranţă, precum filigranul şi firul de siguranţă, sunt încorporate în hârtie.
 
Sunt utilizate diferite tipuri de plăci, cerneluri speciale şi mai multe procese: imprimarea ofset şi imprimarea intaglio, presarea la cald în cazul hologramei şi imprimarea serigrafică pentru numerele care îşi schimbă culoarea.

LETTER OF INTENT

We wish to use the electronic media and/or print media produced by the European Central Bank (ECB) to disseminate it further. We declare that:

6. If we use electronic media online, we will include a link to www.new-euro-banknotes.eu and we will inform the ECB where the material has been used. We will inform ECB of the material used and will forward the links.
7. If we wish to distribute ECB materials, we understand that the stocks are limited. We will inform the ECB of the number of copies distributed, the means of distribution as well as the target groups.
On behalf of the company/institution mentioned above, we declare that we will refrain from using any materials either in printed or electronic form provided by the ECB until our membership of the Partnership Programme has been confirmed.
We will be liable for any damages incurred by the ECB should we not act in accordance with this Letter of Intent.
We also understand that the ECB reserves the right to terminate our membership at any time.
